Ender's Game Casting |
|
Just a little update surrounding the casting of Ender's Game. It looks like Asa won't be the only young star to feature. Both Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld will be starring as the female leads. Asa's Hugo co-star Ben Kingsley is also attached.
Actor Harrison Ford will appear in "Ender's Game," a film based on Orson Scott Card's science fiction novel for young adults, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Ford will play a commander of the training fleet; actor Asa Butterfield ("Hugo") will play the young hero, Ender Wiggin.
In "Ender's Game," which won a Hugo Award, Ender is a child soldier battling an alien force bent on destroying mankind.
Also signed on for the film are Hailee Steinfeld ("True Grit"), Ben Kingsley (who won an Oscar for "Ghandi"), and Abigail Breslin ("Little Miss Sunshine"), who will play Ender's sister, Valentine.
The film will be directed by Gavin Hood ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine"), who has written the script. So far, there don't appear to be any sequels in the works -- but Orson Scott Card has certainly provided plenty of material if the films take off. There are 11 novels and 10 short stories set in the Enderverse. SOURCE...

Articles & Photoshoots! |
|
Asa recently had articles published about him in both BlackBook and The Independent. In BlackBook he was named The Boy Wonder in their countdown of 'Next Year's Best & Brightest in Movies, Music, Art, & More.' You can read the full article here and find the new photoshoot image in our Gallery!
The Independent sat down with Asa and his Hugo co-star Chloe Moretz before the London premiere of Hugo a few weeks ago. The article is hilarious and shows a very funny side to both the kids! You can get a taste below and I suggest you check out the full thing on their website! That article also came with a new photoshoot which is in the gallery too.
Meet the stars of Scorsese’s new blockbuster
In a New York hotel suite, two 14-year-olds are having a teenage argy-bargy.
"Hi mate, yeah, oi, I'm a British boy..." says glamorously confident Chloë Moretz, affecting the throaty tones of a moody adolescent Cockney oik.
"I don't speak like that," tuts well-spoken, wide-eyed, fidgety Asa Butterfield. "You use our language so don't even..." The Londoner stops and glares at the Hollywooder sitting next to him. When I ask him if his voice has recently broken, she titters. "I think it's in the process of breaking. This morning it was going ooe-e-aah-ooh," says Butterfield in a strangulated wail. The young Brit has also recently taken to Twitter to boast that he's now taller than the American.
"Barely," Moretz says witheringly.
"She might be taller than me right now," says the five-foot-sixer ("and a half"), looking at her elaborately shod feet, "but if she took her heels off she's like a little midget."
"I am five-five and still growing," she pouts proudly.
But right now you're Little Midget Moretz...
"I AM NOT MIDGET MORETZ!" she shrieks in the manner of someone who's been called this before. "I am Very Tall, Amazing Moretz." .....Read More.
